Woman Killed After Truck Slams Into Tree In Columbia
COLUMBIA, Md. (WJZ)— A 42-year-old female driver was killed in a crash in Columbia on Monday night.
Police were called to the 5600-block of High Tor Hill around 9:30 p.m. Monday for a report that a truck had hit a tree.
Investigation shows that Michele Lorenz was driving a 1999 Dodge Dakota truck southbound on High Tor Hill when the truck left the roadway and struck a tree.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The primary causes of the collision are believed to be speed and failure to drive within a single lane.
Lorenz was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
