Md. Batman Loses 2 Gigs After Colo. Shooting

WASHINGTON (AP) -- A Maryland man who impersonates Batman, arriving at hospitals in his own custom Batmobile to delight children, says he's had two gigs canceled after the shooting in Colorado.

Children's hospitals in St. Louis and Chicago canceled visits by Lenny B. Robinson out of concern that the Dark Knight's presence would trigger scary thoughts about the massacre.

Robinson has been impersonating Batman for years, but became an even bigger celebrity in the region after police pulled him over while he was in costume and driving his black Lamborghini earlier this year.

Police who stopped him wanted to talk about his Batman-logo license plates, which aren't an approved plate in the state. A video of the stop shows police officers eventually shaking his hand and taking pictures with him.
