OXON HILL, Md. (AP) — Two women involved in splashing acid on a woman and her 3-year-old daughter in Oxon Hill in 2010 will spend time in prison.

Tamara Jackson of the District of Columbia was sentenced Friday to 15 years for planning the attack. The woman who threw the acid, Tikia Anderson of Bladensburg, Md., was sentenced to eight years.

Jackson was convicted in May of conspiracy to commit first-degree assault and other charges. Prosecutors said Jackson was motivated primarily by jealousy when plotting the attack on the woman who was dating Jackson’s ex-boyfriend, the father of the 3-year-old. Both mother and daughter were seriously hurt, though their injuries were not life threatening.

Anderson pleaded guilty to first-degree assault and agreed to cooperate with authorities.
