Md. State Park Lifeguards Compete At Greenbrier
BOONSBORO, Md. (AP) -- About 70 Maryland state park lifeguards are gathering near Boonsboro to compete in a variety of running, swimming and climbing events.
The annual competition begins Tuesday afternoon at Greenbrier State Park.
The Department of Natural Resources is inviting park visitors to watch as the lifeguards compete for prizes.
The annual event includes a 300-yard swim and a rescue race.
The agency says the competition is an opportunity for lifeguards to demonstrate their skills.
