Councilwoman Elected As Mayor Of Brunswick

BRUNSWICK, Md. (AP) -- Councilwoman Karin Tome has been elected mayor of Brunswick, defeating the 12-year incumbent.

Tome received 381 votes to Mayor Carroll Jones' 305 votes in Tuesday's election. Tome will be sworn in next week.

The voters have spoken, Jones tells the Frederick News-Post. Tome said she was thankful and humbled.
