D.C. Sikh Vigil Held In Response To Wisconsin Shooting

WASHINGTON (AP) -- A candlelight vigil is planned in Washington in response to the shootings at a Wisconsin Sikh temple.

Organizers are calling the gathering the Washington Weeps vigil. The vigil is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at Lafayette Park near the White House. Organizers say the vigil is scheduled to last until 9:30 p.m. and they are asking those who plan to participate not to bring any food or drink in order to keep the park clean.

In suburban Milkwaukee, more than 100 gathered Sunday for the first Sunday prayer service at the temple since a white supremacist shot and killed six people before killing himself.
