JOPPA, Md. (AP) -- Authorities say a 6-year-old Joppa boy is recovering after being hit by an SUV driven by a family member.

The Harford County Sheriff's office says the accident happened about 5 p.m. Monday in the 400-block of Pulaski Highway.

The boy suffered injuries to his head and arm and was flown to the pediatrics unit of a Baltimore hospital for treatment. Authorities say the boy was conscience and alert when he was transported.
