Inmate Charged With Plot To Smuggle Drugs
LEONARDTOWN, Md. (AP) -- St. Mary's County Sheriff's deputies have charged three people, including an inmate, with trying to smuggle prescription medication into the county detention center.
Authorities say Courtney Marie Tippett, the inmate, conspired with Kevin Bryant of Lexington Park to bring the medication into the detention. Bryant, 20, and Jesse Albert Humphries, 59, of Lexington Park went to the detention center and were taken into custody.
Tippett, 20, was charged with conspiracy to deliver contraband. Bryant was charged with conspiracy to deliver contraband into a place of confinement, and Humphries was charged with trespassing.
