FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — A former state trooper who threatened to kill a woman has pleaded guilty to assault.

The News-Post of Frederick reports that Eric Paul Funk, 38, entered the plea on Monday. Sentencing is set for Tuesday in Frederick County Circuit Court.

Police say Funk assaulted the woman in February by punching out a window in her home, causing her to be hurt by broken glass. Fun said he planned to kill the woman by hanging her.
