LAUREL, Md. (WJZ) — Howard County Police are investigating a stabbing in Laurel that resulted in the death of a 46-year-old man.

Police were called around 7:15 p.m. Thursday for a report of an assault in the 10000-block of North 2nd Street.

When they arrived, they found Robert Lynn Foster of Savage lying near the entrance of the Midway mobile home park with stab wounds.

Foster was transported to Laurel Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses at the scene identified a man as the suspect.

Police have taken the man into custody. His name will be released if he is charged in the incident.

Witnesses reported to police that the victim and the suspect, who know each other, were engaged in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical altercation.
