Arson Causes $50,000 In Damage To House Near Hagerstown

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Fire officials say arson is the cause of a fire that damaged a vacant house near Hagerstown.

The blaze was reported about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday on National Pike. More than 50 firefighters worked for 45 minutes to bring the fire under control.

The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown reports that damage was estimated at $50,000. Authorities say the fire was set in the attic.
