BALTIMORE (WJZ)– A Baltimore police officer who was struck by a car on February 18 while on duty has died of medical complications.

The Baltimore Police Department said Officer Forrest “Dino” Taylor died on August 29. Officer Taylor was responding to a police officer experiencing an emergency on Guilford Avenue when the accident took place.

“We will never forget Officer Taylor’s dedication and commitment to making downtown Baltimore a better place to live and work,” said Police Commissioner-designate Anthony W. Officer Taylor was with the department for 17 years and was known for walking his foot post downtown. He is survived by his wife and two children.

Police say the funeral service for him is scheduled for Friday 10 a.m. at the Cathedral of mary Our Queen on North Charles Street.
