Art Modell's Family Announces Funeral, Public Memorial

BALTIMORE (WJZ)--The public is invited to pay their respects to former Ravens owner and humanitarian Art Modell.  The man behind bringing the NFL back to Baltimore died Thursday of natural causes at age 87.

Modell's funeral arrangements will be held Tuesday, Sept. 11, 11 a.m. at the Baltimore Hebrew Congregation, located at 7401 Park Heights Avenue.

The Baltimore Ravens and the Modell family will hold a silent tribute to Art Modell at M&T Bank Stadium on Saturday.

His casket will be on the field while the viewing takes place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Lombardi Trophy given to Modell after the Ravens' Super Bowl XXXV victory will be placed next to the casket.

Free parking will be available at stadium Lots B and C. Fans can enter Gate A of the stadium through Unitas Plaza.

The Ravens recommend fans attending the tribute wear purple in Modell's honor.

Former Ravens President and Art Modell's son David Modell will be available to receive condolences at the podium at the Under Armour Performance Center around 11:50 a.m. on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, the Modell family asks that contributions be made to The SEED School:
