GLEN BURNIE, Md. (WJZ) — One person is dead and several more injured after a car hit an MTA bus. The accident occurred on 8th Avenue Saturday evening.

According to police, a 2002 Lincoln LS crossed over the center line and into the oncoming lane, hitting an MTA bus head-on. The car was driven backward more than 40 feet and caught fire.

The car’s driver, Marcus Anderson, was taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. A passenger in the car, a 14-year-old boy, was taken to Johns Hopkins Pediatric Center. He is in stable condition. Neither of them were wearing seatbelts.
