Ocean City To Install 10 More Surveillance Cameras

OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) -- Ocean City officials say they are planning to install 10 new surveillance cameras on the boardwalk by next summer.

The Daily Times of Salisbury reports that the total cost of the cameras is estimated at $76,000 and that the funding will come from bond proceeds.

Police Chief Bernadette DiPino says the exact camera locations have not been determined.

The cameras will be linked by an underground fiber optic line.

City Engineer Terry McGean says boardwalk cameras have become a popular feature on the town's website.
