Harford County Deputy Dies After Suffering Heart Attack At Another Deputy's Funeral

BEL AIR, Md. (WJZ)-- A Harford County sheriff's deputy has died after suffering a heart attack during the funeral services for another deputy who passed away last week.

The Harford County Sheriff's Office said Sgt. Ian Loughran, 43, began experiencing symptoms of a heart attack during Corporal Charles B. Licato's funeral on Sept. 12 but did not know it. Loughran died in his home on Sept. 13 after midnight.

He was a 16-year veteran of the department. He was married and had one child.

"Yesterday, I spoke of a new star in the heavens when speaking of Charles Licato. Today, it seems a second star now joins him," Harford County Sheriff L. Jesse Bane said.

Funeral arrangements for Sgt. Loughran will be posted on the Harford County Sheriff's Office website.
