PIKESVILLE, Md (WJZ)— Baltimore County Police have identified the man shot as he attempted to hit an officer with his car on Wednesday.

Steven David Gary, 45, of Pikesville, has been charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault, theft from $10,000 to $100,000 and reckless endangerment.

He remains under guard at the hospital. A bail amount of $35,000 has been set.

The officer involved in the shooting is identified as Officer Boone, a 13-year veteran currently assigned to Precinct 1/Wilkens patrol.

Per department policy, he has been placed on routine administrative leave.
