High School To Honor Slain Student

CAPITOL HEIGHTS, Md. (AP) — Students and staff at a Prince George’s County high school are paying tribute to a student who was fatally shot this week.

A memorial tribute for Marckel Ross is planned for 2 p.m. Friday on the football field of Central High School. Students are being asked to wear light blue shirts and will release light blue balloons.

Ross was killed Tuesday morning as he walked to school. Police haven’t revealed a motive for the shooting, and no arrests have been made.

On behalf of Ross’s family, the school is accepting cash or money order donations for a memorial fund in the student’s name.
