At least the weekend was nice, because looking into Monday and Tuesday, some rain and even some stronger thunderstorms are possible.
The cool weather we see right now is a result of the winds remaining out of the north, but by Monday, we start to see the high pressure responsible for the nice weather get pushed out of the area and see the precip start to move in for the late afternoon Monday.
It really seems that most of the precip waits until Monday night to come in, however, when it does move in, almost every model is showing a heavy rainfall with this. Some showing over an inch and a half with this, while other models show closer to 0.50-1.00 inches into early Wednesday.
This will make for some small stream and drainage flooding, but even this is not the biggest concern from these storms. The severe indexes are climbing, so this will be a good chance for some severe weather including strong wind gusts and an outside chance of a tornado ahead of the cold front swinging through.
