BALTIMORE (AP) — Lance Armstrong says he’ll participate in a charity triathlon near Baltimore next month, about six weeks after the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency stripped him of seven Tour de France titles for allegedly using performance-enhancing drugs.

Armstrong and the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults said Wednesday that he will compete with other cancer survivors in the Half Full Triathlon in Ellicott City on Oct. 7.

Armstrong is banned for life from events that follow World Anti-Doping Agency rules, but he has competed in other races since the sanctions were announced Aug. 24. He hasn’t admitted violations but isn’t fighting the charges.

The lifetime ban prevents Armstrong from competing in the Oct. 7 Chicago Marathon.

World cycling’s governing body is considering amnesty for riders who confess to doping offenses.
