Anne Arundel Teachers To Get Cost-Of-Living Raise
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- The Anne Arundel County school board has approved a pay raise for teachers, counselors and others.
The board voted 7-2 for the 1.25 percent cost-of-living increase for workers represented by the Teachers Association of Anne Arundel County.
The Capital of Annapolis reports that about 6,000 employees will get raises at a cost of about $2.45 million.
The date the raises take effect will depend on whether workers are 10-month or 12-month employees. A union official said most workers will get the raise in January.
