WEATHER BLOG: Fall Is Here

Moisture and warmth will increase a little over yesterday ahead of the cold front today. Might be a few patches of fog/low clouds early this morning, but in general, a mixture of sunshine and clouds today. Good instability, cape and strong low to mid level flow results in chance for strong wind gusts with the line of showers/thunderstorms along the front from west to east across the area late this afternoon into this evening. Precip should move through pretty quickly and we have dry weather the rest of tonight. Looks like the main threat period for the strong wind gusts in the city with the thunderstorm ahead of the front is about 4 pm to 7 pm.

Some dry and cooler weather coming up tomorrow through Monday. Still enough moisture for some clouds to go along with the sunshine tomorrow, and a pretty good short wave moves through Monday morning, so there may be a period of clouds Monday, but still more sun than clouds. High pressure sliding by to the south Monday delivers dry weather and milder southwest flow Tuesday.

Next front drops in Wednesday and it looks like best chance for precip with this front will be afternoon and Wednesday night, then new high builds in for Thursday.
