To me, it is a slam dunk that Dan Duquette is the executive of the year in the American League.
Virtually every move he has made has touched gold. Signing Chen out of Asia was simply outsmarting the other 29 GM’s. The Guthrie trade, which was brought us Hammel and Lindstrom, two huge contributors for the first half of the season, and then turned Lindstrom into Saunders, was a steal. Nate Mclouth, has filled in for Markakis almost seamlessly. The bullpen acquisitions of O’Day and Ayala were tremendous. Taylor Teagarden, who was hurt for much of the year, has been Mr. Clutch. Calling up Machado at the absolute perfect time was a stroke of genius.
Dan Duquette may be the Orioles MVP!
