Delegate Justin Ross Announces Retirement

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County Delegate Justin Ross says he is retiring from the House of Delegates.

Ross, a Democrat whose districts includes Hyattsville and Greenbelt, made the announcement on Thursday. The 36-year-old says he is leaving the House to spend more time with his four young children and concentrate on building his business career.

His retirement will be effective Nov. 9.

Ross, who has been a delegate since 2003, is vice president of the AFL-CIO Investment Trust Corp., which manages a $2.3 billion commercial real estate fund.

The Prince George's Democratic Central Committee will have 30 days to recommend a replacement to Gov. Martin O'Malley, who will appoint someone to serve out the rest of Ross' term.
