Md. Opening First Regional Job Office In Laurel
LAUREL, Md. (AP) -- The Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation says it's opening a Regional Workforce Center in Laurel that takes an inter-county approach to employment and training services.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was scheduled Thursday for the office serving Anne Arundel, Howard, Prince George's and Montgomery counties.
A spokeswoman says the opening doesn't mean the agency is consolidating its county Career Centers into a smaller number of regional offices. Rather, she says, the regional center will enable job seekers in one county to learn about opportunities in another.
