Md. Native Brings Hundreds Of Hot Rods To Baltimore This Weekend
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- It's been noted that Americans love their cars, particularly those being made when they were kids.
Mike Schuh reports a Maryland native is bringing some of the most respected Hot Rods in the country to Baltimore this weekend.
You'll hear them all weekend. About 500 Hot Rods are rolling into Baltimore. All of them are here because the publisher of the most respected custom car magazine in the country asked them to come.
"The exciting part is just seeing these cars in motion. When I first see them, I don't think they're here for our show. Wow! Doesn't that '32 look really cool going down the street?" said Steve Coonan, Rodder's Journal publisher.
Bob brought his 1932 Ford from Alabama.
"Well, of course it's a 3-window which is a real rare '32, and if you want to be a Hot Rod guy, a '32 is the way to go," he said.
The cars will be parked at Pimlico, but unlike most shows, the owners will also drive them all over Baltimore, so be on the lookout.
"Today a cruise through the town and a cruise through the town tonight," said Alan Johnson, Johnson's Hot Rods.
About 400-500 cars will be in the infield at Pimlico Race Course Saturday and Sunday. The cost is $12 to get in.
