Ravens Vs. Brown Postgame

Video:  John Harbaugh

Big play opportunities were the story in the Ravens 23-16 win over the Browns. The one that really was a game changer was the interception return for a touchdown by Cary Williams. It was 16-13 in the 3rd, with the Ravens only up by three points and the Browns was driving down the field with a shot to tie or take a four point lead. Then all of a sudden Brandon Weeden dropped back and threw an interception that was run back for a TD by Cary Williams. That certainly was the difference maker and took the life out of Browns. Harbaugh said "This is the AFC North. This is the way it goes. It seems like every time we play these guys, this is how it goes. I think that their coaching staff, those young players they have are doing a great job, and that's going to be a team to contend with for many years to come. So, hats off to them. Hats off to our players. It's tough to win in this league, and sometimes you're going to win and you're going to look great doing it in one phase or two phases or all three phases. Sometimes, you're going to win and it's not going to look great, but you have to find a way to win anyway and that's what our guys did. Some guys stepped up and made some plays when they had to be made." That was certainly the case in the game with Boldin having a stellar second half, Flacco throwing for over 350 yards - and then the "pick-six". Harbaugh was very pleased with the win and now the Ravens have a few extra days to prepare for their game next week on the road at Arrow Head Stadium.

The real N-F-L officials are back and they got a standing ovation. They players were happy and pleased to have the real referees back. Ray Lewis said "It's the first time I really got excited about the referees. I walked to the headman and the first thing I said was 'I was fighting for you guys.' But, like I said, I'm glad we got to the point where it was settled because the game, as we saw, was suffering. There was just too much going on. I think guys prepared too hard, we were fighting too hard, and guys really sacrifice their lives for this. So, I think it was very important for us to get the referees back." Also another headline besides the refs being back is the Ravens improve to 3-1 and are in first place in the A-F-C North. Lewis is extremely in his team mates and said "If you've been around here as long as I've been around here, you'll understand that the National Football League every Sunday is going to be like that. You may get a break every blue moon to where you can get up on a team real fast, but every time you have an 0-3 team in your division, then you know it's going to come down to that type of game. I just take my hat off to my team. Short week, both teams had a short week, and for us to come in here and get the win, that's huge." Now they will get rest and get ready to take on the Chiefs next Sunday.
