Man Pleads Guilty In Death Of Girlfriend's Baby

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Authorities say a District of Columbia man has pleaded guilty to killing his then-girlfriend's 20-month-old son earlier this year.

The U.S. Attorney's Office in Washington says Jonathan Fullard, 28, pleaded guilty Friday in D.C. Superior Court to second-degree murder. According to court documents Fullard was babysitting his former girlfriend's son, Keyontae Osbia Moore, when the toddler stopped breathing.

The toddler was taken to the hospital but later died. Police say an autopsy determined the cause of death was blunt-force trauma. According to a charging document, Fullard admitted that he struck the child five to six times.

Fullard faces a sentence of up to 40 years in prison when he is sentenced Nov. 30.
