Police Investigating Death Of Clarksburg Man
CLARKSBURG, Md. (AP) -- Montgomery County police say a Clarksburg man has died after an altercation with officers involving pepper spray.
Police say they were called to a residence on Tailor Shop Place about 4:45 p.m. Monday for a person who was exhibiting violent and erratic behavior. Authorities say officers were told at the scene that the man had threatened two of his roommates with weapons.
Police say the man became violent when they tried to arrest him and that they used pepper spray to subdue him.
Fire and rescue workers treated the man's exposure to the pepper spray. A short time later, police say the man began losing consciousness. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The man has been identified as Nathan Jones, 39.
Police are investigating.
