It may be his first ever playoff game, but I am not the least bit worried about Miguel Gonzalez. He just looks like he has the proverbial “icewater” in his veins.
Gonzalez has already pitched in Yankee Stadium. He’s 2-0, and in his last start August 31, he went 7 shutout innings, striking out a career high 9. He always has the same expression on his face, whether the Orioles are up or down. Yankees hitters are batting under .200 against him; in fact, Cano and Granderson are 0-6, and Swisher and Texeiera are 0-3.
This stage won’t be too big for him…at least I don’t think so.
