WEATHER BLOG: Cooler Air Has Arrived

Monday's front is gone, allowing cooler air to rush in on gusty northwest winds.  Highs have dropped from the low 70s Monday to the low 60s Tuesday afternoon.  That's back below the average of 67 degrees.  However, warmer air is already on the move into the Plains and will come our way starting Wednesday.

Highs will jump to near 70 degrees Wednesday afternoon and stay in the 70s again Thursday. That's because a newly approaching front will turn our winds around to the southwest and pump up the warmth ahead of it.  Clouds will arrive from this front Thursday, followed by some showers later Thursday into early Friday.  The front will get out of here for the weekend.

There is a question to this weekend's forecast.  Cooler (closer to average) air will arrive for the weekend and it looks like the stormy weather will be gone.  However, if a huge trough sets up like some computer forecasting models suggests, that would knock temperatures down even more and produce some clouds.  We'll keep you updated.
