2 Acquitted Of Giving Minors Alcohol

GLEN BURNIE, Md. (AP) -- Two people charged with giving alcohol to minors who were later killed in a wrong-way car crash have been acquitted.

Debby and Joshua Franco were charged with furnishing alcohol to three teenagers who were killed in a Jan. 31 crash on Route 50 in Crofton.

But a District Court judge on Thursday dismissed the citations, saying testimony presented no proof of the allegations.

The Francos are the mother and brother, respectively, of 18-year-old Breanna Franco. She was killed, along with 19-year-old Brittany Walker and 18-year-old Zachary Rose, when the car Walker was driving the wrong way on Route 50 crashed into another vehicle. That driver, 55-year-old Terry Wayne Davis, was also killed.

Maryland State Police said both drivers were under the influence of alcohol.
