HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) — The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says copper wire was stolen from trucks of an out-of-town electrical company in Maryland to help with utility repairs.

Lt. Tom Newton tells the Herald-Mail of Hagerstown that Pike Electric had five trucks parked at the Ramada Plaza Sunday night. On Monday morning, crews reported that wire had been stolen from the trucks.

Newton did not know how much copper wire was stolen.

About 100 Pike Electric workers, including 85 linemen from Indiana and Ohio, traveled to Washington County to help with storm repair.
