Superstorm Sandy's Winds Whip Md. House Fire

EDGEWATER, Md. (AP) -- Anne Arundel County fire officials say winds from superstorm Sandy fed a house fire in Edgewater that caused extensive damage.

The fire broke out about 10:30 p.m. Monday. Firefighters arrived to find flames on the second story and the roof.

Fire Department Division Chief Michael Cox tells The Capital of Annapolis that the winds, at their peak at that time, were feeding the blaze.

It took firefighters an hour to get the blaze under control.

The fire caused $150,000 in damage. No one was injured.
