Anne Arundel Co. Police Question Suspect In Severn Homicide

SEVERN, Md. (WJZ)—Anne Arundel County police responded to a suicide report Tuesday in the 100-block of Pine Cove Avenue in Severn and found a man on the floor suffering from life-threatening trauma to his upper torso.

Jerome Vorden Wood, 45, was transported to the Baltimore Washington Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.

After interviewing several witnesses, detectives determined Wood's injuries were not self-inflicted.

Police say Wood's death was not random, and the parties involved knew each other.

A suspect has been identified and interviewed as part of the investigation. Charges will be determined at the completion of the criminal investigation and consultation with the Office of the State's Attorney.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of Wood's death.

The investigation is active and ongoing.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Anne Arundel County Police Department at 410-222-8610.
