Man Sentenced To 60 Days In Jail After Fatal Accident
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- A man who struck and killed a neighbor walking on a road has been sentenced to 60 days in jail.
24-year-old Keith Harrell of Jessup was also sentenced on Thursday to four months of house arrest. He is barred from driving any vehicle that does not have a breath-alcohol ignition interlock device.
The Capital of Annapolis reports that Harrell pleaded guilty to felony negligent homicide while driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol in the death of 50-year-old Robert Ashworth Brown, who lived on the same block as Harrell.
According to his guilty plea, on July 13, 2011, Harrell had been drinking at a friend's house and was driving home when he struck and killed Brown, who was walking home.
