BALTIMORE (WJZ)— Baltimore police arrested a teenager in connection to the shooting death of his girlfriend. They believe her murder was the result of domestic violence.

Police say Tyrone Alston, 19, fatally shot his girlfriend Tashawna Jones in the head on October 12.

They found Jones bleeding in the 300 block of E. 26th Street and transported her to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where died from her injuries.

Alston faces first-degree murder, second degree assault and various handgun related charges.

Investigators urge anyone suffering from domestic related abuse to seek immediate help.  The Baltimore Police Department’s Family Crimes Unit can be reached at 443-984-7030.  Additionally, the House of Ruth is available to help women and children who are homeless and victims of domestic violence.  Their 24 hour hotline is 410-889-7884.
