ROCK HALL, Md. (AP) — A new solar power array in Rock Hall will provide most of the electricity for the Town Hall, a school and three other buildings.

Rock Hall and Kent County officials plan to unveil the new array Friday morning. The 5,300 solar panels were installed at the Rock Hall Waste Water Treatment Plant. The plant, the Rock Hall Town Hall, an elementary school, the Kent County Board of Education building and a pumping station will use power from the array. The five buildings are expected to get about 75 percent of their electricity needs from the solar power system.

The array was installed by Standard Solar and will be owned and operated by Washington Gas Energy Systems, which will sell the electricity to the town.
