Shiso Tavern

Do you love Sushi? Have I got a place for you!

The Shiso Tavern which opened late Summer features some the most tasty & creative sushi I have had in Baltimore. Sushi Chef Daniel Binghak once worked as Sous Chef for Chef Morimoto, and it shows. The plates were so beautifully presented it was hard to indulge. Well, not that hard.

Our group enjoyed sampling a large variety on the menu, including tuna tataki, lollipop roll, sashimi stack with the freshest tuna, snapper & salmon. If you like to be surprised, ask Chef Binghak to work his magic and send you a sampler of his choice; you won’t be disappointed.

Shiso also makes their own infused sake. We sampled chocolate, pineapple coconut and grape chili pepper to name a few. It’s a very fun idea and fun to order a sampler with a group of friends.

If you aren’t a sushi fan, enjoy other options on the menu under wok specialties like pad Thai, stir fry and pork belly Ramen bowl, a customer favorite.

There is a nice wine, beer and sake selection & specialty cocktails like Lychee Martini and Ginger Blossom pair perfectly with the fare. Owner /Partner Tim Ernst is happy to assist with pairing and selections.

Enjoy happy hour Tuesday through Saturday, 4-7 p.m. and again Friday & Saturday from 10 p.m. to midnight, and all day Sunday. All wok items are $9. All rolls are $3 off. Specialty drinks & wine are $5. Sake  is $2-$4 & beer is $3.

Check out Shiso Tavern; be sure to go hungry.

About Faces for The Holidays

http://aboutfacesdayspa.com

The perfect gift that fits every size? A gift package from About Faces Day Spa. I was lucky enough to utilize a gift package at the Canton location recently, and it really energized me and left me feeling rejuvenated.

I loved my anti-aging hydrolifting facial.  I believe I dozed off a bit while Kelley worked her magic. Get your nails looking holiday ready; Tracey was FAB. You may have trouble choosing from all latest hip colors.

Need a new holiday style? Tiki, the master hair designer, will have you looking like “the belle of the ball.”

I was headed to a new restaurant opening and wanted light make up and a hot, smoky eye, so Kelley and Smashbox made that happen.

So do it for yourself or treat someone special this holiday season. All About Faces locations offer packages and easy online ordering.

*The Timonium location is hosting a holiday open house Monday  evening on November 26.  The open house will include discounts and complimentary express services 6-8:30 p.m.

New Obsession: BAI Antioxidant Infusion Drinks

www.DrinkBai.com for locations

Twitter: @DrinkBai

Ipanema pomegranate, Malawi mango, Sumatra dragon fruit, Limu lemonade, Costa Rica clementine, Brasilia blueberry, Congo pear, Panama peach. Yes, those are the delectable flavors. And at 5 calories a serving and loads of antioxidants, I am in love!

Now I didn’t originate this idea, however, you may want to try them mixed with vodka or rum (if you are over 21). You may as well get your antioxidants if you are drinking.

All natural, gluten-free, these drinks are not only delectable, they are great for you. I keep a stock in the fridge, especially for those days you may need extra-hydration (re: wine/beer hangover) . Yes, perfect.
