Outside Prosecutor To Probe Md. Delegate's Crash
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- An outside prosecutor is helping investigate a boat crash involving a Maryland delegate from Anne Arundel County.
Delegate Don Dwyer has admitted his blood-alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit when the motorboat he was operating collided with another vessel on the Magothy River in August.
Several people were injured, including a young girl.
The Capital of Annapolis reports Anne Arundel County prosecutors have asked a Howard County prosecutor to help with the investigation. A spokeswoman for the state's attorney's office says the move is intended to avoid a perceived conflict of interest because Dwyer represents Anne Arundel County.
A lawyer for Dwyer, a Republican, says he's anxious to know the results of the investigation.
