Woodbine Woman Fatally Shot; Boyfriend Charged

WOODBINE, Md. (AP) -- Maryland State Police say a Carroll County woman has died of a gunshot wound troopers attributed to her boyfriend.

Spokesman Greg Shipley tells the Carroll County Times that Brittany Warfield, 21, of Woodbine was pronounced dead Monday morning at Shock Trauma in Baltimore.

William Brueckmann, 26, was charged with attempted murder and assault and gun charges. Shipley says the Carroll County State's Attorney's Office will amend those charges to likely include murder.

Police say Brueckmann shot Warfield in the head during an argument at their home in the 6800-block of John Picket Road Sunday morning.
