30-Foot Crash Test Dummy Unveiled At Md. MVA
GLEN BURNIE, Md. (AP) -- A 30-foot-tall crash dummy is at its new home on the lawn of the Motor Vehicle Administration headquarters in Glen Burnie.
The statue, bought with federal funds for this summer's Artscape festival, was unveiled Tuesday. The dummy is posed buckling a seatbelt.
Officials say only 46 percent of motor vehicle passengers killed in crashes in Maryland last year were wearing seatbelts.
