Preview What's New At This Year's Festival Of Trees

BALTIMORE (WJZ)—The largest holiday event on the East Coast is right around the corner.  The Festival of Trees starts the day after Thanksgiving.

Mary Bubala is giving you a preview.

Frosty the snowman has been transformed into an amazing Christmas tree. He's one of 600 on sale at Kennedy Krieger's Festival of Trees at the Timonium Fairgrounds.

Grafi Tree has more than five skateboards on it. Hug-A-Tree is just as creative with bears and bees. And Orioles Fever Tree is pure orange. What O's fan wouldn't want that in their home?

"They are really spectacular, and you have to take your time to walk around and really look at them," said Lainy LeBow-Sachs, Kennedy Krieger Institute. "You can't just glance because you have to really see them and spend time looking at them because the details are so amazing."

Organizers say the trees can be delivered right to your door. But if you want to carry something home, there are dozens of beautiful gingerbread homes.

Some even move. Many are award winners--not WJZ's entries, but we had fun making them all for charity.

Each year thousands come to enjoy the start of the holiday season and give back to their community.

"Come out, be with your family, have a wonderful time, spend their money, and it all goes to Kennedy Krieger Institute," LeBow-Sachs said.

There's even a tree by Southwest Airlines that has two round trip tickets on it as decoration--but they come with the tree!
