Residents Told To Boil Water After Main Break

LARGO, Md. (AP) -- Some residents of Largo are being told to boil their water after a water main break.

The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission says the break in a 16-inch water main on New Orchard Drive was reported about 3:50 a.m. Thursday. Some 600 customers in a subdivision were left without water.

Officials say residents whose service has been restored should boil their water. The commission says the advisory will remain in effect for 36 to 48 hours after service is restored.

Water should be brought to a rolling boil for one minute and cooled before using.
