ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — A Maryland appeals court says the rights of parents to control who visits their children applies to siblings.

The Maryland Court of Special Appeals, the state’s intermediate appellate court, issued the ruling late Monday.

The court says parents have the right to decide the care, custody and control of their children. The court says it could not impose a third-party visitation against their wishes.

The Daily Record of Baltimore reports that the opinion reversed a ruling that let a 19-year-old woman, who was a minor and in foster care when the trial started, visit her half-brothers, who live with her father and stepmother.
