WEATHER BLOG: Sunshine & Warmer Air

A cold start to the day, but warmer air is moving this way.

Temperatures are in the 20s for many people Friday morning, 30s closer to the water. All of us will top out closer to the average of 51 degrees Friday afternoon. Other than some morning fog, it will be a nice day with sunshine and occasional clouds. We hang close to that average Saturday, then the warmer air arrives. Highs will get closer to 60 on Sunday and stay in the 60s for the beginning of the week. At the same time, a new front will be moving our way.

The West Coast is getting pounded with a series of storms. One of those will make its way out through the Plains, then toward the East Sunday. It will weaken significantly along the way. And with such dry air over us, we may only get a shower out of it Sunday night/early Monday morning as it passes through. Otherwise, there will be more clouds from it starting Sunday. It should not cause problems for those of you heading to the big game this weekend and all surrounding festivities.

Another front will move our way later Tuesday into early Wednesday. This one will also be lacking moisture. Maybe we could see some showers with it as it moves through, but that's about it. What we will notice, is the warm air ahead of it, followed by a cool down when it leaves. That starts Wednesday.
