Man Slain In Gaithersburg Apartment
GAITHERSBURG, Md. (AP) -- Montgomery County police say a man was killed during a dispute in a Gaithersburg apartment.
Police say the cause of death is undetermined at this point. But they say Cesar Smith, 45, suffered trauma to the body, and homicide detectives are investigating.
Police say Smith was in the apartment with at least one other man when several people entered early Monday and an argument ensued. After the assailants left, the other man in the apartment found the injured Smith and called police.
Capt. Paul Starks, a police spokesman, says the slaying was not random. He says investigators are trying to determine a motive and are looking into whether anything was taken from the apartment.
