Police Probe Fatal Hit-And-Run

GAITHERSBURG, Md. (AP) -- Montgomery County detectives are investigating a fatal hit-and-run in Gaithersburg that killed one man and injured another.

Police say they're investigating the Wednesday morning collision as a homicide. Detectives have found the black Honda Civic believed to be involved in the hit-and-run, but they're still looking for the driver.

Officers responded to West Diamond Avenue around 1:15 a.m. for a report of a struck pedestrian. Once there, police found a 54-year-old man who said that he and his brother had been given a ride by the driver of a Honda Civic. The man said that after they were dropped off and were walking on the street, they were struck by the same car.

Police didn't immediately say why the brothers got into the car. The victims' names weren't immediately released.
