3 Captains To Rotate As Interim Police Chief

OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) — Ocean City officials say three police captains will rotate serving as interim chief of the resort’s police force after the current chief leaves for a new job.

Chief Bernadette DiPino starts as police chief in Sarasota, Fla., on Jan. 1. Ocean City Manager David Recor tells The Daily Times of Salisbury that the resort plans to conduct a national search to succeed her.

In the meantime, three captains will serve 45-day shifts as interim chief. They are Kevin Kirstein, Greg Guiton and Mike Colbert.

The town hopes to have a permanent chief by the start of the summer season.
