Man Dies After Collision On Eastbound I-195

ARBUTUS, Md. (WJZ) -- A man is dead after his car struck another driver on eastbound I-195.

According to Maryland State Police, the man lost control of his vehicle on northbound I-95 around 7 a.m. Thursday. His car struck the guardrail and became airborne before it landed in the eastbound lane of I-195. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The person driving the struck vehicle was seriously injured in the crash and sent to Shock Trauma. That person's current condition is unknown.

It is unclear how quickly both drivers were going and if either was wearing a seat belt. There were no passengers in both vehicles.

Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.

Troopers have closed eastbound I-195 around I-95. The road is expected to remain closed for several hours.
